I live in the St. Joseph neighborhood and the noise here just since I’ve lived here the last five years is horrible. I would like to be included in the next study. And I would like any brochures or anything related to the airport noise because I would like to express my opinion – the noise is horrible. Thank you.

I wanted to report three very low airplanes coming over my house this morning. One at 8:51a.m., one at 8:57 a.m., one at 9:04 a.m. all inbound to Louisville, flying extremely low making them a little louder than usual. Thank you.

I am calling because it is September 27th and this evening the planes have been exceedingly loud coming across our house particularly from 11 p.m. to now which is 12:24 a.m. It’s so loud it’s difficult to sleep, if we have our windows open.

I was attending a meeting last night at the Presbyterian Church and when I got home the planes were worse than ever. They didn’t cease till 2:00 this morning coming in on the east runway. My granddaughter got 1 hour of sleep. I’ve got a terrible headache, I had to work today. I don’t know how long, much longer that we can put up with this over here. I’ve tried to be patient, but it just, we just can’t put up with it much longer. Like I said, I didn’t get but 1 hour of sleep and my granddaughter had to go to school with 1 hour of sleep this morning because when the planes ceased at 2:00, then they started up again at 4:30 and we didn’t get any sleep and now they’ve been going all this morning because the wind I guess has changed directions so now they’re heading out north. They come in from the north on the east runway, that’s what kept us up. And they are much too low for this, coming over this area like their doing.

Why are aircraft flying overhead every 2 minutes? It is keeping me awake.

I would like to know why so many planes are going out north on the east runway. Last night, which would have been Thursday night, September the 2nd there was an awful lot of planes going out, awful low and far as I can tell the weather shouldn’t have been related to them coming out this way at all. They’ve been coming out this way quite frequently and it’s so noisy that you can’t hear in the house. And also they’ve been coming in awful low, and there are a lot of them. And this morning between midnight and 8 o’clock there’s an awful lot of loud ground noise.

I live to the east of runway 1129. It is now 6:30 p.m., Friday afternoon, the third day of September. Aircraft just used this runway for takeoff. I thought this runway was only suppose to be used for emergencies and I didn’t see any emergency for this aircraft to use, to use to take off. There’s no aircraft apparently on either the east runway north or south or the west; I’d heard none. So I’m wondering what this situation is. The aircraft appeared to be commercial in nature, breaking back towards the south once it attained altitude. Thank you.

On 9/3/99 a prop plane arrived at 9:15 p.m. on runway 11/29 and departs the same runway at 9:26 p.m. On September 4, a UPS plane was using runway 1129 at 4:32 p.m. as an inbound flight. Why are the planes using this runway? This is supposed to be for emergencies only. Please explain.

Last night between 11-12 p.m., several small planes were loud. I couldn’t tell if they were incoming or out-bound. This morning there were loud planes also which were all out-bound. They were loud also.

It’s September the 9th, about 10:45 a.m. and I’m calling in regards to the airplanes going out north on the east runway. Since about midnight last night up till the last few minutes they’ve been going quite frequent. They’ve been very low and some of them have been awful noisy. It was almost impossible to sleep from midnight to 7 or 8 o’clock this morning. My understanding was that there would be a lot of planes going in on each runway but not coming out. Could someone tell me why so many planes are going north on the east runway, especially during the night hours, you could let me know, I’d appreciate it. Thanks.

Loud and low-flying planes between 3:30 – 4 a.m. on September 9 woke me up. The planes were loud again between Midnight and 1 a.m. on September 10.

I wish to complain about the noise that we have in our subdivision. You cannot sleep day or night or get no rest. It gets on your nerves so, you almost go crazy. And I have a what-not shelf and the vibration is so bad it knocks the what-nots off the shelf. Please give me a call. Please get this under control. Thank you.

I wanted to report that there are very low flying airplanes heading toward Louisville, going either in front of my house toward the towers and toward Louisville or rapping around behind my house; very low and loud. I’m just wandering why their flying so low out here. The traffic can’t be that busy at Louisville airport that they have to be all the way out here flying real low. What’s the deal? Thanks.

From at least 6 a.m. or earlier until now about 9:15 a.m. the planes have been unbearable. Their taking off across to the north east and their to the west of my house about a street or so and it is just so unbearably loud I can hardly stand it; you can’t even have your windows open. Ok, I just wanted to complain. Thank you.

I do not want a form letter for my complaint. UPS planes began at 4 a.m. this morning and I am operating on 5 hours of sleep today, which accounts for my irritability. I would like to call UPS and complain directly to them, but they are too chicken ---- to have a complaint phone line in this area. The noise this morning was just unbearable.

Between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. UPS planes started and continued unrelentlessly. I have 8 children and everyone was up. The noise continued one right after another. Another is going over now. Please make this stop.

The planes were okay for awhile, but noise has gotten terrible lately. When they fly over, the whole house shakes and windows rattle. I have had two ceilings collapse due to noise and plane activity. My neighbors have had structural problems also. Please note that this continues to be a problem. I am on your list for mailings and get info from ***. Please see what can be done about this.

For the past two or three months I have been noticing loud plane noises from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. and beginning at 4 a.m. until 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. I have also experienced "soot" problems. Why are we hearing plane noise out here? I though we would be immune from noise out this far, but it just gets worse instead of better. We can’t open windows at night and I am awakened while sleeping due to noise. If this is progress, we’ll out of Louisville due to plane noise.

I wanted to sarcastically thank the airport for ruining my outdoor dinner party Friday evening with all the air traffic. Next time I’ll try to better coordinate my social life with the tower.

I’m calling to complain about the aircraft noise. Monday night around 9 p.m. I was watching Monday night football and I had one of the windows open in the house, just to try get a little cool air because of the weather. The planes were so loud that I could not hear the TV.

The time is Sunday morning, and my wife and myself always like to sit on our
patio and read the sunday morning paper. I think that you can get the
picture here. is particular morning there seemed to be a lot of air traffic comming
directely over our house. is was not a good morning ! I still don't know why a lot of this air traffic can not follow the car traffic of I65 to the louisville area.

And about starting at about 4:30 there were 2 screaming airplanes like one about right after the other about maybe 2 or 3 minutes after the other and then there was a third plane. But the first 2 planes were going north west. And the third plane I wasn’t sure because I had gotten into the house, and now another one is going over, but that one isn’t as bad as the first three. And I mean I want to know why some of them are screaming when they go over our houses. I mean these are screaming airplanes. Not like a jet, but screaming. Do not call me before 12 noon.

It has been a wreck on my customers here in the salon today. I had one lady I had to help her, Mrs. *** to get her angina pills out of her purse at 11:23 a.m. this morning when a big jet went over and it shook the whole building and it almost threw this lady into a heart attack. I had Mrs. *** in here when she was the one that got ill. And I had Miss *** and Miss ***, and Miss *** and the other lady, I can’t even think of her name right now, I have to look there on my book…Miss ***, was in here when all this commotion was going on and it was just one big jet and especially one real loud at 11:23 a.m. this morning, Thursday morning. And that lady almost had a heart attack, I had to help her find her angina pills in her pocket book, because the noise was so great and that’s inside the building with hair dryers going. You know this is not good for my business and it’s not good for my customers and I want something done about it right away. Thank you.

I’m standing outside now listening to the planes which are seem like their warming up their engines and they extremely loud. I don’t know if it’s cause they have to warm the engines when it’s colder or what, but it’s nosier than I’ve ever heard. Thank you.

Deshler Drive

UPS has been warming up since 10:00 this evening. It is now 11:45 they’re still warming up. You tell us in the meetings they only warm up a minute or two; not true. It’s 56 degrees, south winds three miles an hour and it’s clear. We’re gonna have to close our windows tonight to get any sleep around here. Thank you.

I’m sure you would expect to hear from me tonight. The air traffic out here is absolutely dreadful. Coming from Louisville out this way turning near probably Martin and Loi and Fry Burger Road frequently, low, loud. It’s been going on for an hour or so. Dogs are barking, it’s really dreadful. Thank you.
