UPS aircraft are arriving from the north on the West Runway. Why aren’t the planes being flown contraflow? The Winds appear calm and the aircraft should be arriving from the South.

At 8:12 a.m. a very low and loud aircraft flew over my house. All day yesterday there were numerous loud and low-flying aircraft.

Aircraft noise is affecting my business. I have heard complaints from the St. James Court area. The artists for the St. James Art Fair who stayed at my Bed & Breakfast have done so for about 5 years and this is the first year they have complained about the aircraft noise. It sounds as if the aircraft are right over my roof. Last night the noise was so loud from 11:30 p.m. until I finally fell asleep at 2 a.m.

I live over my shop here, I live over my shop here, ******. My granddaughter lives up there also. We were kept up again all night with those planes over our head. This is violating our civil rights and these are not stage two air craft flying over our homes at night, these are stage three UPS planes, which is as quiet as there gonna be and that’s what’s keeping us up at night. This is in violation of our civil rights, we pay taxes, my granddaughter goes to school, I have to work, and this is not right, something’s gonna have to be done about it. And whose gonna pay for all the damage that’s done to our roofs and our property by all this gasoline being dumped on our homes? I’m just gonna get the neighborhood together and just start a class action lawsuit because this is gonna drag out and this is mild to what it’s gonna be when they get that in full force over there when they get all this going around. There’s not going to be no end and we can’t put up with it much more over here. Thank you.

Planes seem to be louder and coming in lower than normal. I can’t sleep tonight because of aircraft noise vibrating the house every 2 minutes.

For the last two nights the aircraft have been so loud they are rattling my windows. I live in a historic area and the houses can’t stand this kind of noise. I know they have moved one neighborhood, but you can’t rebuild historic houses. We don’t want the noise over this area.

Planes have been coming over for the last 1/2 hour way too low and way too loud. No more sleep for the family. We are all up.

There have been, I bet five or six planes have gone over this house in the last hour. Flying, sounding like they are flying very low. In fact one or two went over just as you were, as I was listening to all the various things before I was punching buttons. I’m not sure which direction their going to and from, but there’s been at least five or six, probably more like six that have gone over low. It is now 5 o’clock in the morning and it is Thursday, October the 14th. Thank you and goodbye.

The last 20, 25 minutes there have been four or five planes going over low again. It’s almost 5:30 now and I’d like to get some sleep. Thank you. Bye.

I have a problem with excessive plane noise over my home. At night it starts about 10 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. for about two hours. At 1:30 a.m. it starts again and this goes on until about 5 a.m. All through the day at various times you can’t hear the TV and this is with the windows closed. I am awaken every night and never get a full night’s sleep. What are you going to do about this ongoing problem? I have lived here for 29 years because it was a peaceful, quiet place. You are welcome to come to my home and hear for yourself. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Yes, I noticed you, you’re really outdoing yourself tonight. Planes are everywhere in the sky, each direction everywhere I look; very low. What’s going on? They’re flying in the area of probably Martin, Loi, Fry Burger, and St. Mary’s Road up here in the Knobs. Flying frequently, every one or two minutes over the last hour, especially around 11:20, 11:30, 11:55. Like I said flying every one or two minutes coming up from Louisville turning. What are they doing staging, or in a holding pattern? Why are they all out here tonight? Have a pleasant evening. Let me know. Probably be at the meeting tomorrow night. Bye.

Now this airport noise is not a minor inconvenience, it’s a major pain. Between 4:19:54 a.m. and 5:18:57 a.m. October the 15th, there were 35 planes going over here. Now that’s not minor noise that’s a major noise and I for one would appreciate it stopped, or somebody can just come a long and sound proof my house. Thank you.

At 9:50 a.m. this morning there was a low-flying plane that came out from Louisville and turned east back toward Louisville. It was gray with black on it.

The aircraft have been loud between 4 and 8 a.m. on and off over the last few weeks. I don’t know what is causing it, but we don’t want it over our area.

I was awakened from a sound sleep by a jet passing directly over my house. I was at the Noise Study Group meeting earlier this evening, and now the planes are passing overhead from the north to the west runway approximately every 2 to 3 minutes. I cannot possibly believe that this area is not in the 65 DNL. I think it may have to do with the fact that this is the most expensive part of Old Louisville; it would be quite costly to have to deal with our neighborhood. I invite the group to place a monitor in my backyard; I think you will be forced to admit that the original study levels were lower than we experience on a nightly basis.

Planes were taking off to the north over Parkway Village starting at stated time. At 4:50 a UPS plane. 4:55 737, 5:00 looked like a private. 5:07 Plane took off at very high altitude. 5:09 another plane. At 5:24 a 727 took off that was very loud and later while I was outside & not sure of the time was one of the worst which was a Grand Aire jet. When one of these take off they are so bad it is necessary to cover your ears. This was a bad day for Parkway Village.

Last night between 11:40 and 11:45 p.m. planes were coming over this area. They were very loud and low. The levels were so loud we couldn’t hear; and the crystal and china were rattling in the cabinet. As planes fly over west end area and Sherman Menton bridge, I’ve noticed there are lights on the bridge which look like airport runway lights. Please determine why they were in our area and let me know. The noise has really gotten unbearable lately.

5:21, 5:26, 5:27, 5:29, 5:34 I was awoken again this morning by the cancer that goes by the name UPS. UPS continues to show blatant disregard for the basic human right of citizens to sleep in their homes at night. UPS has declared War on this community. I for one, have rededicated myself to fighting this diseased corporation that has placed its right for profit over the citizen's right for quality of life. Remember my voice, UPS, I HAVE ONLY BEGUN TO FIGHT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There’s a plane that just went over a few minutes ago and it seems like it went from one side of my kitchen to the other, which would have been from east to west or west to east I guess, west to east. But it was so loud and so, made such vibrations. I thought my air conditioner was gonna vibrate out of my window. I’d like to know why it was flying so low and why it was making vibratory but why it was making my house shake. I would like to know why it was vibrating like that making the house vibrate like that. It’s very noisy and that’s about it. Thank you very much. Bye.

Planes taking off in the early AM make as much or more noise as before the N/S runway were in use. It may be that they are still using the E/W runway or are turning over our area much too soon. The other airlines do not make this noise.

I want to complain about constant plane noise in our area. I live in Southern Parkway area and planes start at 11 p.m. at night and the noise goes all night long. It is getting worse instead of better. I was told something would be done to fix this problem but nothing has changed. I want someone to call me back and tell me what is going on.

I want to complaint about airport noise in the Beechmont area. Noise has been at various times between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. the engines sound like run-ups and then they finally take off. They start again between 5 and 7 a.m. for 10-15 minute periods. It has been bad here lately. I am handicapped and other ladies in my neighborhood are really disturbed by the noise but won’t call and complain. Please help us.

I want to complain about the airport noise. They have been coming off the west runway and turning east. The noise has been very loud lately, as they appear to be only 3000 feet elevation and too loud. I live on the Bullitt County line and want to know what is causing so much noise and why are they coming over my area so often?
