I am very concerned about the noise and amount of airplanes that have been going over the top of our house here and would like for someone to contact in regards to this very uncomfortable lifestyle we are currently living in. Thank you very much. I am a resident here in Louisville and as a home owner in the Hunters Hollow Sub. I must be in the flight landing path for way too many aircraft. At this time the planes are landing approx. every 2 to 3 minutes for what seems like all night. I feel as though we are being bombarded. Is there any way you can help make some type of pattern change or maybe forward this to someone who could give us some understanding as to why there is such a problem for us. We are not seeing any end to the noise and fear that no one is aware. Please respond. Thank you.

Citizen would like to speak directly with person regarding loud jets flying over his home. He was recently awaken by the loud sounds of a jet on 10/16/01 @ 4:30 am. This is not acceptable to the citizen. He would like this problem to stop as soon as possible.

I just had general question about the small aircraft pilots that fly around the Jefferson County area. I live on Rudy and we get a lot of small plane traffic around here. Yesterday as an example this happens a lot a few planes went over and one guy in particular flew so low over the house isn't there some kind of a minimum distance off the ground. It is annoying but it also seems incredibly dangerous. That is my question what is the minimum ceiling or distance off the ground that they have to be?

We just had a helicopter fly over the street. Kind of low and I just wanted to make sure that you are cautious about who takes airplanes out at this time to make sure everyone is official so we are not being victimized or anything. I am sure you have a lot more law enforcement officials watching who is taking planes out. I was just checking and wondering.

For the last few days airplanes have been taking a short cut over town. A two engine commercial jet has just flown over my home by Cherokee park. They should be father out by the river before they make there turn for final. We have always had strays, but the last few days it has become gotten worse

I have got questions about loud low frequent late night flights, on Oct 3, 4 and last night wondering why they were not flying contra-flow. Interested in knowing some altitudes. I would like to have some kind of a listing of altitudes starting maybe 10 miles out, 10 miles north of the airport. I think maybe the altitudes are maybe closer than what you have been giving me and are not correlating to what is going on up here. And on Oct 9th this morning at about 0915 UPS flew over real low or the Moser Knob Road area. And especially low was a 0930 UPS extremely low in the Loi Road area. Interest in information on those. And altitudes.

I just wanted to file a complaint and let you know the planes are back. They have been back for the last few night between 2300-0230. I think that these planes are entirely too low.

I have lived in the south end for 40 years and I have never heard aircraft like I have been hearing the last 2 weeks. Has the flight pattern changed directions. And now your coming more over to our way. This morning it was awful I could almost see the pilots in the planes it was just so incredible loud our windows shook rattled and everything else. It was just terrible.

There was a lot of noise last night has the airport changed the flight path or anything like that? We have just moved here and last night was bad.

Another 'interesting' evening in the densely populated areas north of the airport, as non-preferred jet departures roared throughout the period under conditions that seemed to have nothing to do with published runway use criteria. As is well known, these criteria call for north flow when the tailwind component exceeds 7 knots. Here are a dozen on-field wind readings taken in conjunction with these operations:

Time
Wind Direction
Wind Speed
Tailwind Component
1740 280 5 2
1750 280 5 2
1755 300 8 5
1810 290 7 4
1820 280 8 3
1830 270 7 1
1915 290 5 3
1940 280 4 1
1955 280 4 1
2030 270 4 1
2100 240 3 -1
2110 calm 0 0

The need for improved, and shared, decision aids becomes more urgent. We need to be sure appropriate provisions are made in the upcoming noise compatibility program, if not sooner.

The right weather conditions can still produce potent reminders of the need for closer attention to the airport's noise abatement program. When westerly winds, in brilliantly clear weather, produce north flow of air traffic at tailwind components generally below, and mostly well below, the published seven-knot threshold, unaccountable loss of peace and quiet in the densely populated areas close to the airport is the result.

Here are selected readings from on-field ASOS equipment during specific north departures on 6 Oct:

Time
Wind Direction
Wind Speed
Tailwind Component
1425 290 7 4
1510 270 11 2
1615 290 9 5
1705 300 11 7
1710 290 12 6
1720 300 9 6
1735 310 11 8
1800 280 11 4
1910 300 8 5
2005 300 6 4
2055 300 6 4
2150 290 4 2

Exactly one of these dozen readings, at 1735, manages to slip above the 7-knot criterion for north flow - hardly enough to justify reversing airport operations. The pattern is clear, and once more reinforces the need for improved monitoring and tracking technology to permit more accurate control of noise-sensitive activity.

This is very un-American what those people are doing to us. This is violating are civil rights something is going to have to be done. I have been patient long enough talk to whoever in charge of the buyout because my little autistic grandson has been up last 2 nights asking what’s that what that with all this damn noise those ups planes going over. We are getting tired of this it's going to end up in court. I would like to resolve this as soon as possible.
