Lee Drive Floyd Knobs, 47113 May 2001 I was just getting ready to send you an update on the noise. Last night there were 5 planes between 11:30 PM and Midnight. Between Midnight and 12:45 I only recall 5. And, most of them were not the "wheels on the roof" variety. So, I was optimistic that some improvement is being made. Lee Drive Floyd Knobs, 47119 May 2001 The noise report for May 1st is 9 planes between 11:25PM and midnight; 2 between midnight and 1:00AM. Two of the planes that crossed our roof around midnight were "screamers"--very high pitched trailing engine noise. Moving them just an eighth of a mile to the east would probably help a lot. Sherwood Louisville, 40205 May 2001 It is 10 minutes after midnight and you people have awoken me with your d__n airplane noise, AGAIN! Your airplane noise is so loud that even with my windows closed, it is louder than my TV (which I have now turned on since I am awake). Mt. Washington Louisville, 40229 May 2001 Planes are turning east at Mt. Washington and Synder freeway and Preston highway for the last 2 months. They are starting to turn too soon. Mt. Washington Louisville, 40229 May 2001 At 1555 on 8 May a 747 and big twin engine aircraft flew over my house (turning too soon). National Turnpike Fairdale, 40118 May 2001 Last Wed, Thur, and Fri, she could hardly get any sleep. Wants to know how you can apply for aid towards sound proofing or mitigation. Welch Drive Louisville, 40272 May 2001 A 747 flew over my house shaking it, @ 1705 on the 9th of May. 747 turned too quick heading west. Green Leaf Road Louisville, 40213 May 2001 Wanted info on Noise Study Status. Anonymous Louisville May 2001 UPS airplane flying too low. Union Avenue Louisville, 40213 May 2001 Noise was really bad last night. Our windows vibrate when the planes go over. Is there any program for sound proofing or insulation? Tunnel Mill Road Charlestown, 47111 May 2001 At about 7:15 p.m. a small high wing aircraft, white with a red stripe flew between 100' and 150' over his house. This plane has done this before I think it is a training flight. The pilot shuts his engine off at about 1000' and restarts it. Audubon Parkway Louisville, 40213 May 2001 Date of noise event was 29 May. Airport appeared to be in north flow all evening, sending the loudest operations over the most populated areas of the community. I had only limited opportunities to check, but here are a few characteristic on-field conditions reported during these operations, on a dry and clear spring day:
The first reading is at least close to the over-seven-knots criterion, the rest not close. Additional vigilance welcome. |
