Spicewood Drive, Clarksville, 47129 March 2003 I am logging another complaint about the noise from UPS planes here in Clarksville again tonight. Unlike last night this one is understandable. Winds are out of the south at about 9 or 10 MPH. This explains why the planes are coming from the north tonight. The ones last night with the winds out of the south at 4 MPH are the ones I am concerned about. The forecasters are saying colder weather is coming in. That is what we are thankful for. With some north winds, maybe we can get some sleep over here. Spicewood Drive, Clarksville, 47129 March 2003 I am calling about the planes flying over southern Indiana tonight. When we went to bed tonight the weather stations we reporting winds out of the southeast at 4 MPH. I know the runway is not wet. With those wind conditions, why did they turn the airport around and run the flights out of the north? Either the stations do not have correct information, (and they say they get their information from Louisville International Airport) or they are not looking at the same thing the tower is looking at. From the southeast at 4 MPH unless I misunderstand does not seem like a reason to be turning the field around. Spicewood Drive Clarksville, 47129 March 2003 We have been awake over here since about 11:15 p.m. with UPS flights. I think that is 3 nights out of 4 this week that we have had the flights over Southern Indiana. They are keeping us up again. Carnes Drive, Louisville, 40219 March 2003 There is a no-fly zone over top of our subdivision and your planes are blowing stuff off our walls causing a bunch of disturbance. We are getting tired of it tearing our stuff up. These C-130's are taking off right over top of our houses, you can almost throw rocks at them. I would appreciate you giving me a call so we can get this solved. We are loosing our driveway and everything because of the vibration of the planes. Stuff is falling off the walls. Merwin Ave. Louisville, 40217 March 2003 We had a lot of noise last night. At around 5:00 a.m. it sounded like I had planes taking off in my living room. I can never tell when I am going to get a good nights sleep. I do not think that any human being should be subjected to this constant surprise of noise. You would not like to live that way. E. Riverside Drive, Jeffersonville, 47130 March 2003 We had a couple of mornings last week when the planes came over this way and woke me up. Belgravia Court Louisville, 40208 March 2003 Please note that it is impossible to sleep with airplanes crossing over my house every three minutes tonight. I was awakened around eleven and actually returned to sleep but the persistent interruption has completely awakened me now. It appears that I have two choices. I can either move from my home on Belgravia Court, or I can stock up on sleep medication and earplugs. I have already tried the earplugs and I cant sleep with them. They hurt my ears. I would rather not resort to medication, and I love my house and neighborhood so moving is not really something I want to do. Is there another alternative that you might suggest for those of us who must live with this persistent invasion of our homes? I would welcome any suggestions you might have. Carnes Drive Louisville, 40219 March 2003 A 747 just cut across the top of the house. He looked like he was having problems getting up in the air. It was 5:00 p.m. Thursday night when it flew out. Mt. Washington Road Louisville, 40229 March 2003 I talked to you once before about the airplanes changing their approach and decent. I would like to talk with you again about it because they are shaking us out of bed again. S. 2nd Street Louisville, 40208 March 2003 We have had loud noise for about 1 week around this time of night. Also, during the daytime between 10:00 a.m. and noon. Wildwood Clarksville, 40219 March 2003 An incredible number of aircraft flew over the house on Friday the 28th. |
