The planes are buzzing our house tops again. It started about quarter till eleven and they continue to do so. The UPS planes have started their runs so about every three minutes we are getting them right on top of the houses. 10 days in February out of 28 about, about 37% of the time you are bringing them in from the north. First day of March we are starting out all over again. Wanted to let you know. Please let me know when the navigation meeting is going to be held. I have told our people here that I was going to speak up and let the Navigation Committee know what we are putting up with over here. So please contact me when the next Navigation Committee meets.

Saturday morning I discovered that my house, my cars and several of my neighbors cars were covered with what appears to be drops of jet fuel. This is not the first time this has occurred. I am under the impression this is not permitted. What can we do about this?

Just thought I let you know, I got home about 11:30 PM Saturday night there was a prowler in my basement had to call the police, now I’m afraid to sleep with ear plugs, afraid I will not hear noise if there is another prowler. I am not going to tolerate this kind of abuse much longer. I have tried diplomacy with this airport thing and it is just not working, the only recourse we have is the courts that is what other neighborhoods in other city’s do and they come out the winner. The airports have lots of attorneys on their staff they should know they are violating our civil rights. No human being should have to live like this, no other industry would get by with this kind of pollution & noise. Oh but the Airport & the Politicians say the flying public demands air service, We the none flying public demands peace and quiet. move the airport & put the light rail out with the airport where it belongs, away from heavy populated areas and we will all be happy.

It is Monday evening about 11:30 and the UPS planes are flying almost directly on top of our houses, making sleep extremely hard if not impossible. As you know this is the second night out of 4 in March, you know out of the last 5 months there have not been any months with less than 9 days were the UPS jets have come directly over Clarksville. I know it is weather, I think the weather is sometime marginal when they go ahead and direct these flight over Clarksville It looks like at least 33% of the time at night we are getting these UPS flights directly over our houses, they are right on top of the houses. I mean you look outside they have got there landing lights on you can see the bottoms of the planes, it is almost like they are going to touch down that is how low they are. Again sleep is almost impossible until they slack off about 3 in the morning. So here we go again another night of no sleep.

It is Tuesday night and you can guess what is happening. The group is telling me we are going to have to do something else we have recorded to you each night and this goes on we receive lip service that, that is the best we can do and there is nothing really that can be done. I may just turn this over to someone else within the group because they definitely want to go a different direction. Maybe some type of demonstration, I don't know what they want to do but, they are saying what we are doing obviously is not working and the Regional Airport Authority is not going to do anything for us. I can't really argue with them against that. I don't really see where anything is going to be done. I report the meeting I have had with you and the fact, the remark you made about it being perception and that we are just now noticing and this noise has been here all along, they are telling me that I am full of balogna, if I expect them to believe that then maybe I am. But anyway nothing is happening and it is continuing to be an extreme more than just a nuisance it has become a disruption of a way of life. Not being able to sleep at night is a horrible way to try and live and I can see there frustration, I know what they are up against. I may turn this over to somebody else if I do I will introduce that person to you and let them carry on, because at this point I don't think I am doing the group any good at all. But again here is another night where we won't sleep well, hope everyone over in Louisville is because we are going to be awake over here in Clarksville.

We had previously been advised that planes would not be on an approach pattern over our location except in bad weather. The past three nights, March 4 through March 6, 2002 we have had significant traffic directly overhead starting around 11:15 PM. Our location is on the edge of Floyds Knobs just east of Grant Line Road. This is the first time we have had significant, repeated noise for at least a few weeks. Is this temporary or are we now back as the primary pattern?

I may not be heading up the neighborhood committee but as long as I live here I am still going to complain. Again tonight, this is the 8th night in March you are flying the planes directly over our house tops here in Clarksville. 5 out of 8 night in March, that is a dismal 63% of the time UPS flights have been coming over Southern Indiana. The strange thing was that WDRB 41 at 10:30 said the wind was coming out of the east at 6 MPH so ah, it looks like to me and the group perceives the same thing even on a marginal thing you are going to run those flight over Clarksville and Southern Indiana, wind was not even out of the south it was out of the east a 6 MPH range so again I will let you know or someone will let you know who is representing the group over here. We are currently looking to move but as long as I live here I will let you know when our sleep has been disturbed. And here is another night 5 out of 8 in March that we have our sleep interrupted because UPS planes flying right on top of our roof tops.

It is Friday night and the UPS planes have started it seems like their almost continual run over Clarksville. That is 6 night out of nine in March, 67% of the time they have come from the north over our neighborhoods in the month of March. I know there have been a few night when you questioned if the conditions were as they should have been. I guess tonight with the winds out of the south pretty heavy at 15 MPH it seems to be justified, but we must have made someone in the tower angry yesterday or today because it seems like from 5:30 on every flight from the north came directly over our house. It has been not just UPS planes at 11:00 PM we have had flights all evening long directly over top of our neighborhood. But this is 6 out of 9 nights we have had the UPS planes continually buzzing the tops of our houses. 6 out of 9!!!!

I live right by the airport and UPS, and have a lot of problems with airplane noise. My aunt who had lived in the Minors land subdivision recently got relocated due to the noise, along with many others. Now there is a new study of Old Louisville and the noise they receive. There is and to my knowledge never will be any plan or study where I reside. There is constant flying over my house and neighborhood all day everyday. I would like to know who I can talk to or e-mail about this matter if you all will not help. I am not out to seek money, but I would like something done, we are surrounded also by loud train noise, and industrial business's have been built all around us. I have a headache at least once a day, and even my kids (3) sometimes are woken up due to so much noise. I would like to know where to begin and how to get someone to listen and help us on this matter. Thank you for your time.

It is Monday night the 11th and I am complaining again, the UPS flights started about 11:15 PM and they have been going overhead about every two minutes. I watched 41 news tonight and they said the wind was out of the west at 5 MPH and that was about quarter till 11. I don't know, this is 7 nights out of 11 in march. 63% of the time the flights are coming over Clarksville. I know your goal is 20% but 63% in March. This is trending in fact it is getting worse. January was worse than December, February was worse than January and it looks like March is going to be worse than February. It just continues to get worse for us over here. Please let me know when the Navigation Committee meets I don't know if I will be the representative, it may be an attorney, or a retired math teacher may be representing the group. But I still want to be there to put in my 2 cents worth. I may not be in this area longer because we are looking to sell.

I would like to know why they are sound proofing homes in old Louisville if the planes are supposed to come in from the south. I am not a sound sleeper. I live in a quite neighborhood and the planes keep me awake at night. UPS does not do anything for me except keep me awake at night.

At 9:27 today a plane flew over my house north to south, that could not have been more than 300' above the ground. My quality of life has been greatly diminished, I deserve to be able to set on my porch after a hard days work and enjoy the peace and quite.

Airplanes have been coming again, They start about now and go until about 2:00 AM. There is no wind blowing, they need to be checked out. UPS you know 50-80 airplanes we would for it to get, my gosh why are they going in the middle of the night. They are coming right through my bedroom window. I here them go from one end to the other. I want to make a formal complaint. Please make sure it is put in place. Please don't call me up about this.

The UPS planes are buzzing the house tops here. This is 8 nights out of 14 in March 60% of the time they are flying over Clarksville. I guess I will see you Thursday the 21st at the navigation meeting to see if some of these issues can be addressed. The frequency is increasing, it seems like every month. I know it is weather related but there has to be some relief for the residents of Clarksville from the late night UPS flights. There has to be some remedy for the flights flying the same path and 60% of the nights coming over Clarksville.

It is Sunday night, I have been home sick from church. From 5:30 PM on, planes have just constantly flown overhead. From 5:30-6:30 PM if you will look at your records it was about every 2-3 minutes we were getting a flight buzzing, I mean they were right on top of the house tops. I am assuming that the west runway has not been used at all this evening. It is now after 11:00 PM and we are still having flights overhead. Not as frequently but they are still coming over head. Both channel 11 and channel 3 news reported that the winds were out of the north at 3-8 MPH. If winds are out of the north and they have been all evening, why are they bringing the planes over southern Indiana from the north. Again there are some contradictions here that I don't understand. I don't understand why the flights were one after another all evening long. Again I have been home all evening from church, normally Sunday night I am in church but from 5:30-6:30 PM we have flights every 2 -3 minutes flying right over the tops of our houses, and they were low, I mean they were low almost on the house tops. They were breaking up TV reception that is how low they were. But real confused on this one maybe we can bring it up Thursday night but with both TV channels reporting winds out of the north anywhere from 3 to 8 MPH it does not make since that you are flying planes in with a tailwind and not flying them in from the south with a headwind. I am confused.

You are running the planes of Southern Indiana again. 41 news at quarter till 11:00PM said the wind was out of the northeast at 7 MPH. Yesterday when you ran the planes over here both channel 11 and channel 3 said the wind was out of the north, one said 5 MPH the other said 8 MPH. Both nights we have had north winds and you are still running the planes out of the north. I really think there is an agenda to keep the planes over Southern Indiana. We are going to talk about this Thursday I guess, but with both weather stations reporting north winds yesterday and 41 today saying northeast at 7 MPH, and you are still running the planes from the north, that fly's in the face of having to land into a headwind. This is the 10th night out of 18 that the planes have flown in over Southern Indiana. I hope the Navigation Committee will listen to these issues Thursday night. And especially the wind direction issue the last 2 night have just shown that does not appear to be a factor at all. We can talk Thursday at the meeting. But this is disturbing our sleep and for reasons that we are not even sure why.

I understand you are the one I need to write to in reference to the recent change in flight pattern(s) at Louisville int. airport. it seems we (who live in "the knobs") are now directly in line with (I am assuming), the flight path of ups airline, into and out of Louisville. this has been quite disturbing to our household. we have two young children (3 and 9), who wake every time (slight exaggeration) a plane flies overhead. is this temporary or will this continue?? please advise. thank you for your consideration in this matter. I understand my family is not the only one concerned by this new flight pattern.

I am getting my house remodeled and I have noticed that the ceiling is cracked and bowed in one room and may fall in. I feel that this is due to the airplanes coming over so low. When they come in to land you cannot talk on the phone, watch TV or do anything until they get by. I have got this damage to my ceiling and the other guys that are doing some more work in the house for me told me that it is just a matter of time before it could fall in and hurt someone. That was not in my budget to do that room at this particular time. I need someone to call me back to see if you all have some money allocated at this type of situation.

Early Tuesday morning between 3:30 AM and 6:00 AM planes were coming over my house too low. My son is a pilot and he says that the planes should be between 900' - 1300'. It must be the UPS planes because they were coming over every 3-4 minutes. It does not seem to bother some people but it sure does bother me.
