Elam Drive Louisville, 40213 March 2001 Are there any plans for Preston Park, as far as soundproofing or acquisition? Zurschmiede Drive New Albany, 47150-4460 March 2001 I am 75 years old with exceptionally good hearing. I want to know about changing flight paths over U of L, Downtown New Albany, between Vencines and Highway 64, then curving out through Floyd Knobs. This complaint is about the proposed changes, not the current situation. Larchmont Louisville, 40215 March 2001 The planes last night were extremely loud. How come the planes dont come over for a week or two then come over for 3 or 4 days at a time? Lee Drive Floyd Knobs, 47119 March 2001 We are continuing to have problems with late night flights low and loud over our house. The latest instance was Monday evening, March 12, 2001. The planes started at 11:45 PM and continued every few minutes until after 12:30 AM (or at least I got back to sleep at that point. If you would keep the traffic further north over the Knobs (which is much more rural) and not turn it south until I-65, it would help a great deal. Please let me know what we can do to get this problem solved. Our street address is 116 Lee Drive. We are slightly west of Grantline Road, HWY 111. There is a large cluster of houses at this location. We are very close to the radio towers and at one of the highest points on the electrical distribution transmission lines. Honey Suckle Louisville, 40213 March 2001 Lives in Edgewood and wants to know his status. Durrett Lane Louisville, 40213 March 2001 Helicopter flying over his house on Saturday at 10:00. Minors Lane Louisville, 40219 March 2001 From 0130 to 0600 this morning planes flying too low, they were flying lower than normal. Audubon Parkway Louisville, 40213 March 2001 Its been some time since Ive written, as there has seemed to be real improvement in fidelity to runway use policies since the first of the year. But in the last couple of weeks, several suspect instances of non-preferred north flow have arisen once again, directing the loudest operations over the most densely populated residential areas. This afternoons exposure was simply too much to ignore. Here are the on-field weather data for northbound departures observed over just a two-hour period:
At no time was the seven-knot tailwind threshold crossed that would have justified these highly disruptive operations under agreed runway use procedures. Its a real disappointment to get such an emphatic reminder of the pressing need for improved control measures. Audubon Parkway Louisville, 40213 March 2001 Airport appeared to be in north flow all evening, sending the loudest operations over the most populated areas of the community. I had only limited opportunities to check, but here are a few characteristic on-field conditions reported during these operations, on a dry and clear spring day:
The first reading is at least close to the over-seven-knots criterion, the rest not close. Additional vigilance welcome. Iowa Avenue Louisville, 40208 March 2001 Frequent, very low flight, over the 700 block of Iowa ave. High in noise volume, and frequently, esp. during 12-6AM times it rattles windows etc. Please evaluate passge and check your vectors on your noise study map. Thank you. Also I have been trying to get your phone noise reporting line and no one answers, nor does they recording come on, it just rings. I have been sick or I would have called and/or written ore often with complaints/reports of increased noise. |
