Despite a wind shift from northwest to west that the NWS pegs at about mid-morning, aircraft have continued to depart over the most densely populated areas north of the airport. Since at least mid-afternoon, on-field instruments have reported, with uncommon consistency, winds between 270 and 280 degrees, at 12 to 14 knots. These readings are well within the parameters prescribed for normal operations. May we hope for some relief?

I’ve been recording the noise in my living room and my windows are shaking. They’re all going north tonight and anywhere from 78 to 85 and I hope it stops by the time I go to bed at 9:30 because I have just heard this all day long. There’s just gonna have to be something done about it. Thank you.

The aircraft are flying over my house and I can’t sleep.

Seems the UPS airplanes flying inbound are taking shortcuts. For some reason the tower or pilots are flying very low tonight. Just had one of the large planes fly so low, the engine noise woke my husband and myself out of sleep as well as rattle the windows and caused some items to fall off the bedstand. That has to prove there is a problem with directing them on the correct flight track. Is there some way to keep the planes on the exact flight patterns, even before the Noise study evaluation is complete? The longer this goes on, the worse it is getting! I want to get some explanation and reason for these "misdirections" from someone!

We just had two planes fly over our house at extremely LOW altitudes. Both were from UPS. The noise was so disturbing that my Rottweiler ran underneath our patio furniture from the loud noise and rattling garage doors. This is not a first incident. In fact, this has been a constant occurrence over the past months, and increasing throughout the Noise Study. Usually the planes are directed a little (and I mean "a little) to the South of our house (our bedroom window, to be exact), but more and more, the planes have been cutting their approach short and flying lower and lower over the roof of our house. And even though airlines have converted their planes to "Stage 3" engines, low and disturbing airplane engine noise is disruptive, annoying, and should be illegal! Not only were these two planes violating our right the an acceptable nights sleep (which we have not received in days, weeks and months), we feel the altitude is DEFINITLY a danger to our safety. My understanding is that the time between each plane should be a minimum of 20 seconds. Without a doubt (and I counted the seconds) these two were so close it had to be dangerous to the passengers of the second plane. The tall trees that surround our home were shaking from the exhaust from the engines. That is TOO LOW! I want to hear a reason and response to this complaint from RAA/Airport Authority. I feel the tower (whether Indianapolis Regional or Louisville International) must keep a more watchful eye on these situations. Any "close call" is unsafe and unacceptable. The problem needs to be evaluated NOW, not after the Noise Study Group has ended.

The ATCT stated that control of aircraft would get tighter beginning March 1. There have been 50-75 aircraft flying over the top of our houses this morning, going south and then swinging up over our neighborhood. The last one could not have been more than 1500 feet up. The racket is unbearable. I have been to the noise study meetings. You have the parameters, let’s do something.

I don’t think the FAA realizes how many aircraft we have in this area. Who ever has been making the corridors isn’t realizes what’s going on. They’re not too low, but they are loud. I’ve got several layers of flights and all types of aircraft, why does it all come over here?

Why are there so many large aircraft flying over today?

A DC-8 took off and turned due east without proceeding over the hills. I think it turned too early and would like an explanation as to why?

At 10:55 p.m. a four-engine aircraft flew very low over my home. In the 30 years I have lived here, I have never seen an aircraft fly this low. I would like to know why it was so low?

I am usually in this site to complain, but I would like to say that the last few days, with the weather being nice and all that I have been able to go to bed at night and not be bothered with airplane noise. I don't know what has changed, if anything, BUT I LIKE IT !!!!!!!

I live on Sixth Street and the planes have been so bad I can’t get any sleep. I can’t get any rest in the night or when I come home in the afternoon. I am a nursing student. What are you people going to do when a class action lawsuit comes against you. Are you aware that noise like this that’s so bad that it prevents people from sleeping causes bad reactions?

Aircraft have flown excessively low from 3:45 a.m. –5 a.m. this morning. They appear to be flying parallel to National Turnpike.
