Fairhaven Mobile Home Park Louisville June 1999 Will you send someone here for monitoring the noise? We have a lot of noise in the park, especially at night when we're trying to sleep to go to work the next day, and even during the day. It is very loud, and very nuisance. Why haven't they sent someone here to investigate? This is Outer Loop and National Turnpike. Please give us a hand.
Fairhaven Mobile Home Park June 1999 Why hasn't anyone been in this area to ask us if we want to move, cause they're a lot of people who would like to get away from planes, cause they're very noisy. Please call or leave info in the book.
Louisville Avenue Louisville, 40209 June 1999 I need to talk to someone about the noise in the 4400 block area, which is the closest area to the airport. Please mail me a complaint form and information as to whereabouts in the Beechmont area you're setting up the noise thing, which I believe needs to be set up on Louisville Avenue.
Callie Drive Louisville, 40118 June 1999 I'd like to talk to someone about the noise problem. They've spoken about noise reduction out here, but it hasn't happened.
Rosewood Drive Clarksville, 47129 June 1999 It's Sunday morning, and it's very hard to enjoy quality of life sitting outside with aircraft flying at low altitude directly over Lincoln Heights home. Would be nice to redirect flight pattern away from neighborhoods, and return to life like it used to be before airport changed patterns.
Gardiner Lane Louisville, 40205 June 1999 Can't keep renters in my home at 5611 Norton because of the noise. Only my son will stay there, and if he moves out, I don't know what I'll do. The noise is awful. We shouldn't have to live through this. The airport should have been put out in Bullitt County.
N. Barbee Way Louisville, 40217 June 1999 Heard news report on Channel 11, and would like study information sent to me. Couldn't even sleep last night because planes were so loud and frequent. She guesses that all planes passing through to airport pass over her house. Conversations have to be stopped until planes pass by, both inside and outside. Her bedroom's on the second floor, and it's impossible to sleep. Normally, she takes something to help her sleep, but didn't do it last night. Please send any paperwork so she can complete it.
Minors Lane #250 Louisville 40219 June 1999 I'm wondering what the Regional Airport Authority is going to do about mobile home park on Minors Lane? There's always talk of Minors Lane Heights, but not the mobile home park. If they could come out here and test the noise... We get terrible, terrible airport noise around here. If we complain, the manager of our mobile home park says we will be evicted. I would like information on how we can get some help.
Colorado Avenue Louisville, 40208 June 1999 My complaint is that these darn airplanes are coming over this area from 3:00 to 4:00 in the morning, and 4:00 in the evening, and it's almost impossible to talk to anybody and especially listen to the t.v. with all that noise they make. I believe I could take an old country-made slingshot sometime and hit the belly of the plane, if I was of the mind to. And it's getting aggravating, and I would like to have it stop. In other areas, like Minors Lane, they go results. Now, why can't we get them?
Linwood Avenue Louisville 40217 June 1999 I have been living here for 35 years, and just like the lady was talking in the paper-Ms. Evans-I say the same thing. It's hard to hear when the planes are going over us all the time like they are, and all this noise. My neighbors even mentioned about later on they're moving away on account of it. I thing it's a shame, I thing they ought to go another way. I've put up with this a long time, day and night, and I wish something could be done.
Keswick Blvd Louisville, 40217 June 1999 Im looking at the paper this morning and I don't believe that we are in the area to be studied. But this is almost at the crossroads of Keswick and Alexander Streets. And since 9:14 this morning, every two minutes, a plane has gone right over our lot. I suspect all about three were ear-splitting where no conversation or television can be heard.
Worth Avenue Louisville, 40217 June 1999 I'm looking at the map in paper today and noticed that the area to be studied is Preston Street, and I want to go on record as saying that the noise does not stop at Preston Street. And the noise is terribly intolerable. I honestly believe I have tracks on my roof from these low-flying planes, especially coming in the evenings, from incoming planes to the airport. I'm sure you get a lot more noise in Schnitzelberg because we're closer to the airport. I feel we're being neglected out here, and ignored in this area, and would certainly like the area to be monitored.
Loretta Street Louisville June 1999 I am calling to complain about noise control in Preston Park.
June 1999 In the first place, everyone assumes we have a touch-tone phone, which we do not. Airplanes are flying east of Preston Street. We understood that the planes are not supposed to fly east of Preston. The noise is terrible. You have to keep windows closed, or if you're on the telephone, you have to stop talking. Nobody seems to care or can get anything done. I appreciate the idea that you're investigating this problem.
Lansdowne Avenue Louisville, 40217 June 1999 We are considered outside of the noise zone of the airport. The noise is atrocious in our neighborhood. You can't even stand outside and talk when the planes go over. Even with air conditioning, the planes can be heard. We would like for them to come and do a study in our area. We're right off Eastern Parkway, about two blocks, and about four blocks off Preston. We were told planes don't cross over our area. Someone needs to come out here and talk to us, and listen, and watch planes the planes go over our street. We're really disgusted with it. I would like someone to call or write to me so I know you got this message.
3501 Pineland Drive Louisville, 40219 June 1999 Please call me about aircraft noise. We have had to put up with aircraft noise from the airport for many years and I want to make sure they put a monitor in my neighborhood.
4th Street Louisville, 40208 June 1999 They are taking people, about a half of dozen to the West Side parallel runway. They should be taking them to the other runway. Therefore, it seems the initial guidelines are not being adhered to, so someone should be straightened out on this matter.
Louisville Avenue, 40209 June 1999 We have aircraft noise and noise from CSX all the time. What is being done about the noise. Can you help me with CSX too? The planes are loud between 1-2 a.m. I own another home on Louisville Avenue, too.
Audubon Park June 1999 At 4:05 p.m. an army transport plane flew over. It came over very low and was very noisy. It was not in the normal flight pattern at all. It banked sideways coming over Audubon Park. I just wanted to lodge a complaint against that.
Springdale Drive Louisville, 40213 June 1999 I want to be sure our area is represented in the noise study. We get noise on a continual basis. It is loud and annoying.
Dezern Avenue Louisville, 40118 June 1999 The aircraft noise begins early morning, between 3-5 a.m. It is loud. The planes fly right over my home. During the day it is loud but at night it is worse. I hate to wake up to the aircraft noise at 3-5 a.m.
Granger Road Louisville, 40118 June 1999 I want to talk to someone about the aircraft noise in my area. It starts from the wee hours of the morning and again in the afternoon. We experience a lot of noise in our area. They need to put a monitor by my house. That noise goes overhead. It's so loud that I can't even hear my television. I have to turn it up as loud as I can get it. It's about to drive me nuts.
Old Louisville, St. James Court June 1999 It is very noisy. Yesterday the east runway didn't appear to be used as much as the west runway. Why is that so? They had the monitors in place near the east runway. From a neighbor's point of view, it looks like you are purposely avoiding the east runway.
Southern Parkway Louisville, 40214 June 1999 I want to complain. I'm sitting on my front porch and I can't even talk to people because of the noise created by the planes flying overhead.
Barricks Road Louisville, 40229 June 1999 My comment is on the airplane noise. I live in northern Bullitt County, just south of the Jefferson County line in the Whispering Oaks mobile home community, and everyday, and especially on Saturdays--the day that I get my rest--the plane noise is horrific, especially between 5:30 sometimes earlier, sometimes later, and 7:00 in the morning. It's impossible to sleep, impossible to get any peace or rest during that timeframe. The noise has affected me and members of my family. My mother lives on Hart Avenue, across from the Fairgrounds, and it just unbearable when the planes pass, and we have to stop our conversation, even though we're standing face-to-face, and I would like to get involved.
St. James Court, Louisville June 1999 The noise has been astronomical in the Court. I can read the numbers on the bottom of the planes when they're landing and coming over St. James Court. The other night - Wednesday Night - I counted 27 airplanes between 11:30 and 12:30, one every 2-3 minutes. I couldn't hear my television set at all.
Keswick Boulevard Louisville, 40217 June 1999 I am calling to complain about the noise.
June 1999 The taxi shoot stand sits near the west runway. When the planes are waiting to take off, their tails face the taxis and blow in our faces. It is killing the vegetation and I would think its killing me, too. Please put up a barrier or do not let the planes sit there by the taxi shoot while waiting to take off.
Lilly Avenue Louisville, 40217 June 1999 I'd like to respond to the noise the airplanes make. When we're sitting on our porch, or visiting with anyone, we can't carry on a conversation with one another, sitting next to one another also can't talk on the phone. It is very loud and I just wanted to make my voice heard.
Alexander Avenue Louisville, 40217 June 1999 I probably live in one of the noisiest areas for the jets flying over. As a matter of fact, you can stand on the front porch and see to the passengers, they're flying so low. The damage they're doing to the rooftops in the area is bad enough, but the noise is almost unbearable. I have noticed that for the past two days, Standiford Field has changed their flight pattern, because normally between 4:30 and 6:00 in the evening, you can't even sit and watch TV in your living room, and I'm sure it has to do with the fact that the study is being done. I would be very much interested in my home being one of them where the test is done to find out what the decibel level is for these planes flying over, because like I said, you can stand on the porch and wave to the passengers flying in the planes.
Hess Lane Louisville, 40217 June 1999 My mother lives on Hess Lane. She not only has to put up with the loud and low aircraft but now her ceiling is cracking from the vibrations. Maybe someone needs to file a class action lawsuit to make things better for the neighbors that have to put up with all the airplanes.
June 1999 Thank you for responding to my noise complaint. While the planes are loud all day, they seem to be more frequent, every 2-3 minutes, and more loud between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.
Hanover Road Louisville, 40207 June 1999 Normally, we see planes flying over and that's fine, but tonight a plane was flying entirely too low. It looked no more than 25 feet above the trees. I really thought I was going to lose my house.
Administration Drive Louisville, 40209 June 1999 The aircraft noise is so bad when my friends and I are outside talking that we have to shout at each other in order to be heard.
Eula Rd. Louisville, KY 40219 June 1999 My 79 year old mother lives on Packard Avenue in Parkway Village, approximately 1-1/2 miles from Louisville International. Her family has owned the home since 1927, prior to the establishment of the airport. My mom is suffering from the effects of having her life constantly disrupted due to the noise from landing aircraft that fly directly over her home every 3-5 minutes most of the time. It would be great if she could sell her home and move, but, like a Catch 22, the aircraft noise makes the area totally undesirable for potential buyers. No one wants to buy in an area inundated by aircraft noise and vibration. She has been robbed of her home in two ways. There is no opportunity to have a normal daily life which includes a good night's sleep and there is no way to sell and move elsewhere, since she would need that income to make the move. I sincerely hope that when your study groups, consultants, developers, government agencies and neighborhood alliances get together, you remember my mother and the people like her. She doesn't deserve this. What can we do?
Fairhaven Mobile Home Park Outerloop/National Turnpike area June 1999 Why hasnt anyone been in this area to ask us if we want to move, cause theyre a lot of people who would like to get away from planes, cause theyre very noisy. Please call or leave info in the book.
June 1999 Cant keep renters in my home on Norton because of the noise. Only my son will stay there, and if he moves out, I dont know what Ill do. The noise is awful. We shouldnt have to live through this. The airport should have been put out in Bullett County.
Harrison Lane Fairdale, 40118 June 1999 Is there anything we can do about the noise? Cant get much rest. Appreciate any info via phone or mail. Cant get out to meetings due to broken back.
Minors Lane June 1999 Im wondering what the RAA is going to do about mobile home park on Minors Lane? Theres always talk of Minors Lane Heights, but not the mobile home park. If they could come out here and test the noise We get terrible, terrible airport noise around here. If we complain, the manager of our mobile home park says we will be evicted. Loretta Street Louisville June 1999 Im calling to complain about noise control in Preston Park.
Parkway Drive Louisville June 1999 The noise of the planes over my home is so bad that most of the time if I am outside I have to hold my hands over my ears - and there is no way you can carry on a conversation with anyone when they pass over- also on my roof since the planes have become more frequent passing over some type of dark spots are on the front part of my roof. If you would care to check it out my address on Parkway Dr. You can see it also on some of the other homes in this area. Please respond back if you receive this.
