I want to know why those planes are flying to the north this morning? When I look at the flag it is limp. They are not using 65 like they should be and they are too low.

Highland Avenue

At 8:05, 8:10, and 8:20 this morning planes came flying over my house and they were too low. I live on a 1500' hill and these planes scare us to death. If they had some type of problem, this area is very populated and it could be disastrous. Things have been going great up until today. Why are they flying this way?

For the past twenty-four hours, the airport appears to have been operating entirely in north flow, sending the noisiest operations over adjacent neighborhoods north of the airport. Repeated checks of on-field wind conditions during this period have shown remarkably consistent, moderate east winds - 50 to 70 degrees, 6 to 11 knots. Nothing approaching the 7-knot tailwind component along the runway azimuth that would justify these highly disruptive flight patterns in fair and dry conditions. It's a timely reminder of how badly improved decision aids are needed, and how their transparent use would help ease community concerns. Godspeed to their development and deployment.
