Yawn, yawn. Same old story you've heard and dismissed for years. Little old lady lives at *** Packard Ave., right in the landing path of planes approaching airport. Her problem...every three minutes constant harassment due to noise of planes on descent to airport. Answer...so move. Problem...you won't buy her out and no one else wants to buy into that neighborhood due to airport noise. Catch 32 Another possibility? Aren't there two runways? Why can't the second one be used so that people like the little old lady (my mom) can get some relief and some sleep, can occasionally open a window, can go out on her porch. She has no power here, only the hope that someone will think of her and the others like her, who constantly endure this noise. She hopes that someone might come up with a way to get her a little relief from the constant barrage of noise that goes on constantly right above her head.

Hello out there. Any body some body would you please tell me how to get in touch with some earthling that have both feet on this earth that I can negotiate a buy out. I want to get out of this mess as soon as possible. I do not want my life evolving around that Airport any longer. with all the procrastination going on we will be here another ten years waiting for results. I make my living from the 4 plex where I live and have my business. This is costing me monetary value. I am not able to rent booth space because Hairstylist do not like to be moving out of their neighborhood away from their patrons. I am honest with them about my situation with the Airport and the possibility of moving soon. I would like sooner than later to get this resolved if any one in charge is not out there flying around I would appreciate a speedy reply.- ps who are the neighborhood groups that are praising UPS for being a good neighbor print their names so they can be exposed for the harm they are doing to us

I received your letter in the mail today along with your brochures. I would like to report that today Sunday at 1048 there was an airplane that flew over old Louisville. It flew right over my house. I am sure it was not at 2500' it was much lower than most airplanes fly over this area it had a light blue color in it's insignia it flew over at 1048. I do believe it was lower than 2500'. I am wondering if you might be able to check into this.

There is too much noise out here since they opened up the new runways. The planes are also dumping fuel over our property, it gets on the house, car, and in the pool.

I moved from Rose Drive 8 years ago to get away from the noise. These planes are so low they can land in your back yard. Some of my neighbors are moving out because they can not take it anymore.

I would like some information on the noise study. I moved in here last September and the noise is becoming unbearable.

I would like to get some information on the noise meeting tonight. I saw an article in the paper that talked about opening a new runway.

Here are some on-field wind conditions reported during northbound departures yesterday evening, July 19. Louisville runway use procedures call for these noisiest operations to occur over the densely populated neighborhoods north of the airport in clear weather only when the tailwind component of the wind in the runway direction exceeds 7 knots. I wasn't able to capture statistics for every operation, by any means, but the pattern is still pretty plain:

Time
Wind Direction
Wind Speed
Tailwind Component
1700 030 5 4
1725 030 7 5
1730 060 5 2
1750 030 8 6
1800 040 7 4
1810 020 9 8
1820 030 5 4
1835 020 7 6
1910 030 5 4
1935 040 5 3
1945 040 6 4
1950 040 5 3
2015 350 4 4
2035 variable 3 0
2050 290 4 2
2115 280 5 2
2140 calm 0 0
2145 calm 0 0
2150 250 3 0
2155 250 3 0

As is evident, exactly one of these twenty readings exceeds the published threshold. The need for improved decision support technology grows more urgent with each experience, because it's clear from other exchanges that the tower people care about the community. They need better, and more transparent, tools.

I hope I will be on long enough for you to hear one of these friendly flyers come right over our head. It started about 2300 and I am standing right outside our bedroom trying to find out why the planes are coming from the north again, it's a very clear night, I can see the moon with no problems and there is no wind out hear, hold on let me let you have a listen. I would really like to know what is going on I don't understand this noise! I do not understand it! I would appreciate your checking in to see if you can help these pilots find another way to fly another route.

The planes were back again last night. I have been very patient, but time is running out. I know you will have to do something with me. I do not want my world revolving around airplanes anymore.

Complaint: I am just calling about these airplanes, of course I could have called you 10 years ago. For the last 10 years 24 hours a day. It's pretty bad when you get into a neighborhood and it's quite, and then all of a sudden all these airplanes go over. They need to be using Highland Park area since they took all those homes out and they don't use it for anything except a post office.
