I am _________, the clinic director of Kentuckiana Children's Center. We are taking care for Children with special need. My patient _____ is responding to our treatment except in the days when she wake up at night screaming afraid of the plan's noise. He mother sent me this e mail which I am forwarding it to you. I appreciate if you can help my patient to respond better to our treatment. Thank you in anticipation.

Dr. ________, I am writing you in pertaining to the matter of the Airplane trauma _______ experiences at night. We moved here to KY in Dec 2000 & moved into this house Feb 2001. Immediately she started hysterical, screaming at night esp around the times of 12pm & 3am. This had never happened before. That is when the big UPS planes come in, several in a row. It shakes the house, rattles the windows & is very loud. It sounds like the plane will land on the roof. It has startled us, as well as our other 3 children, ages 10, 7 & 7. We notice in the day, when the planes are not so low, then she does not react. Only when woken out of a deep sleep by this terrifying sound &feeling. She is 5, a Dandy Walker Syndrome child & has the potential for seizures. She is language delayed & therefore cannot express her feelings with speech to make us understand her hysteria. This really concerns us because we don't know how this will affect her disorder or her development. We have tried to talk to her about planes & what they do & carry but this has had no effect on her. We also have tried different things to help her not have this trauma. We do noise control in her room: fan, air conditioner, sound machine. This still has not helped although the other children have adapted somewhat. We were informed by friends to contact the airport about this. We did & they denied having any funds to replace windows & insulate

What in the hell are they doing over there? A plane just went over here, if we would have been outside our eardrums would have busted. It's about 1420 and that thing was low and it was loud. They have been going all night and all day. Something has to be done over here I am not going to wait until the first of the year.

Planes are coming over one right after the other with no let up. One that just came over was so low that it shook the whole house. You may not be able to here me I have had 4 planes fly over in the last 10 minutes I tell you what flight practically they are flying slow and I don't like it. All I get is an answering machine and I do not like that either!!!

I live at the corner of I-65 and the Gene Snyder Freeway. I think that the planes turn too fast sometimes. One just came right over my house at 1530 today and it was loud.

We get night time noise all the time. We live 1.3 miles from the Bullitt Co. Line. The money that they have set aside for airports needs to go towards mitigation.

When planes come over they are loud and low enough to make you stop talking (inside or outside). We would appreciate a faster turn around than 3 years for some kind of relief.

I have noticed that the last several weeks there seems to have been an unusual amount of air traffic over my house. As I have stated in the past that we spend a lot of time on our porch in the evenings and I have noticed this increased air traffic. I was wondering what is up with this?
