Audubon Parkway Louisville, 40213 April 2000 All publicly available sources seem agreed on today's westerly winds, 260 to 270 degrees, and in the 15-20 knot range. According to agreed procedures, these readings are almost adequate for crosswind runway use, but certainly not for reversed (north) flow over the densest residential areas around the airport. Yet that's exactly what's been happening, all afternoon. Why? Audubon Parkway Louisville, 40213 April 2000 ...and on into the evening, the flow is still north, into the thick of the neighborhoods, though reported wind is even milder, and more favorable in direction to preferred runway use. Is there some logical explanation for this continued disruption? Preston Highway Louisville, 40213 April 2000 These planes kept me up all night again last night till 4:00 this morning. I consider that a violation of our human rights, of property seizure without the property owners consent and this is going to end up in court. It just takes time to get things together because this is violating our human rights, keeping us up seizing our property without our consent or buying our property and getting us out of the way of this damned mess. Thank you. E. Riverside Drive Jeffersonville, 47130 April 2000 I want to register a complaint about UPS planes flying in the middle of the night last night, thats April 11, causing us to be awakened. Thats all I wish to complain about. Meadowlark Avenue Louisville, 40213 April 2000 I have been a new resident of Audobon Park for about six months and the majority of the mornings at about 3 or 4 aircraft fly over non-stop and rattle items in his house. Wildwood Clarksville, 47129 April 2000 The planes are flying over my house. Gillette Avenue Louisville, 40214 April 2000 The aircraft are revving up every few minutes and running, then suddenly stops with complete silence. It started around 10:20 p.m. and continues. It has been happening the last few days, can we get a break from it? Audubon Parkway Louisville, 40213 April 2000 According both to NWS and on-field automated weather reporting, conditions have been well within agreed tolerances for preferred runway use since about noon today. No precipitation, and winds that had been stiff in the morning fell to readings varying from 330 to 90 degrees, 3 to 6 knots. Still, aircraft have continued to depart in the non-preferred direction, over the most heavily populated areas north of the airport. This apparently unwarranted impact on the community is difficult to understand. If other factors are at work not considered here, it would greatly ease local annoyance to learn what they are. Eastern Parkway Louisville, 40213 April 2000 Its Sunday morning and the planes have been coming over from approximately 8 a.m. until right now, approximately 10 a.m. without stop. I do belong to the noise study group, so please dont send me a letter suggesting I join it. Please try to do something about this infernal noise. Iowa Avenue Louisville, 40208 April 2000 I am concerned because it seems like at last night about 3:30 a.m. and a couple times before that and a couple of times after that there were planes coming over setting off car alarms. Now there is something radically wrong that their flights are setting off car alarms. Also Ive noticed that the flights are coming in really low and noisy today. Theyve been coming in about every five or ten minutes. One came in just about five minutes ago which would have been 4:25 p.m. I dont know whats going on, but theyre really coming in noisy today and flying really low and I would like for you to check this out to be sure they are flying within the patterns theyre suppose to be flying in because theyre setting off car alarms and theyre really making a lot of noise today. Thank you very much. And theyre also vibrating the buildings. Thank you. Sherwood Avenue Louisville, 40205 April 2000 Airplane flyover noise so loud here (at Sherwood Ave.) that I cannot even hear my TV, and its rattled my window panes. My windows are closed, but even with them closed, I still have to turn up TV very loud, just to be able to hear it over the airplane roar. E. Riverside Drive Jeffersonville, 47130 April 2000 Once again this morning, its Tuesday, January the 25th, I was awakened, my wife and I were awakened by UPS planes. Rather than flying along the I-65 corridor, theyre flying over the house there. Id appreciate very much your taking constructive action. Thank you again. E. Riverside Drive Jeffersonville, 47130 April 2000 I was awakened repeadetly by UPS planes flying over my house last night and rather then flying over I-65 where there is already plenty of noise. I would appreciate if you can have constructive action taken. Thank you Anonymous Louisville, 40208 April 2000 The aircraft are keeping me awake. There seem to be more tonight and louder, why? Can you make it stop? I work second shift and can't get any rest. Gillette Avenue Louisville, 40214 April 2000 I live in the Beechmont neighborhood very close to Almond and Woodlawn avenues. For many months, the noise pollution coming from the new runway and new FedEx center has been greatly increasing. When I moved here, neither airport service was there, and since these services have arrived, the nighttime noise is horrendous. The biggest noise problem that I have at night is when I am trying to sleep. The noise from the jet engines starts around 3:30 a.m. and lasts until 6:30 a.m. My question is how do I qualify for home noise insulation repairs to my house, like the repairs offered to the Eastern Parkway residences several years ago? It is getting increasingly more difficult to sleep at night and the noise from the airport is causing the problem. Please respond as soon as you can so I can make appropriate arrangements to insulate my home from the airport noise and start getting some sleep. Larchmont Avenue Louisville, 40215 April 2000 I would like to complain about the nighttime aircraft noise. I don't care about the study, the noise just gets worse. Please just stop the noise. I am collecting signatures on a petition to get this stopped. |
