General Requirements for Abatement Measures

• RAA formally proposes – November 2002

• FAA (ADO) approves – within 180 days of NEM acceptance

• RAA coordinates w/FAA (ADO) to initiate NEPA if required – immediately

• RAA coordinates with users as necessary – immediately

• NEPA documentation (6 – 18 months from initiation) – may be possible to initiate as a test prior to NEPA

• FAA (Air Traffic/Flt. Std. ) develops implementing procedures as required (e.g. approaches, SIDs, STARs, Tower Order revisions) – upon completion of necessary NEPA process

• FAA may provide funding for capital improvements – upon completion of necessary NEPA process
