June 28, 1999

7:15 p.m.

The meeting was called to order at 7:15 p.m. Present were Luanne Rice, Kim McGee and Donna Lawlor. Minutes from the June 9th meeting were reviewed and approved by those present.

Discussion was held on our progress for listing sensitive facilities. Kim McGee had charts and maps for all Jefferson county public and parochial schools. She has a person to contact for home schools. Donna Lawlor stated that the state office in Frankfort should be able to provide information for private Christian schools. Also, contacting the Association of Christian Schools and Home Schools may help. The Christian Home Educators of Kentucky will be having a convention in Louisville around July 16th. She will try to obtain information there.

Donna Lawlor
is working on the church listings.

Luanne Rice had information on daycare centers for children and for the aged. She is still working on meeting halls.

It appeared that not too many of our lists contained facilities in the west end of Louisville. Luanne Rice volunteered to contact Denise Bentley and Darryl Owens to try and obtain this information.

Discussion was held on preparing a survey for various facilities to determine the extent of their noise problems and if they have done any noise insulation, etc. that has helped previous problems. Minors Lane Heights Elementary has already insulated their facility. We may want to talk with them now. We discussed contacting other cities with main hubs and asking them how they handled their airport noise.

We thought
it would be good to contact companies or groups that assist with noise mitigation/insulation and have them come to our meetings to share their knowledge and allow us to learn what products are on the market. (example: Home Builders Association)

We ordered, through the RAA secretary, a new flip chart with 10 transparencies so we can begin mapping sensitive facilities locations.

Our next meeting will be August 16, 1999 at 7:00. Be thinking of questions to be included in the survey.

This meeting adjourned at 9:25 p.m.
